On September 11th, the event ” Data Protection: The new Brazilian law” was held in São Paulo. Cristina Tsiftzoglou represented CGVF, accompanying the client representatives Ricardo Dalmaso Marques, senior legal manager of Mercado Livre, who spoke in the panel “Oversight and application of the law”, and the in-house lawyer of OLX, Myrella Mazzucchelli Dias, who moderated the panel “Requirements for treatment of personal data and the rights of owners”.

On the occasion, important members of the legal community discussed relevant points of the new law, among them the main challenges for interpretation of its provisions; how the parties involved, whether public or private, companies or individuals, should prepare themselves for the law’s entry into force, and how its compliance will be overseen.
