On August 5, 2020, the President signed Complementary Law 174\/2020, which regulates the renegotiation of tax debts of companies subject to the Simples Nacional regime.<\/p>\n

Based on the new complementary law, the debts classified as actionable or already at issue in judicial or administrative litigation can be renegotiated with the Federal Government, by signing instruments to resolve the dispute. Entering into these settlement agreements brings relevant benefits, such as significant discounts of fines, interest and surcharges, as well as expanded time limits for payment.<\/p>\n

Besides this, the deadline for adhesion in 2020 was extended to 180 days counted from the constitution of micro-enterprises and small businesses just starting activity. This theme is still subject to regulation through a resolution of the Simples Nacional Management Committee.<\/p>\n
