joão Paulo is a lawyer who graduated from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) in 2005, holding a Master’s degree in Business Law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) in 2014 and an LL.M. from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), with a specialization in ESG, completed in 2023.

He joined the firm in 2013, working until 2020 in strategic litigation, consulting, and claims regulation. Upon his return in 2025, he assumes the role of coordinator of the consulting and regulatory team, focusing on interaction between insurers, reinsurers, and regulatory agencies, both in regulatory advisory and administrative proceedings, as well as in contract clause review and adaptation to legal and regulatory frameworks.

He has extensive experience in Civil, Business, Environmental, and Regulatory Law, with a strong emphasis on practical applications in the insurance and reinsurance sector, in addition to interdisciplinary expertise in Human Rights and Corporate Sustainability.

João Paulo was a professor at the School of Business and Insurance (ENS), where he taught Civil Liability, Environmental, E&O, and D&O Insurance. He is also one of the authors of the Insurance and Reinsurance Law module used in MBA programs at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV Online). He was recognized by the British publication “Legal 500” in the “Next Generation Partners” list in the Insurance chapter for 2018, 2019, and 2020.
